I’ve gone to get something slightly different here: a game result check!
Predictably, I have whacked Rangers into this one, who’ve been a dependable BTTS pick since Steven Gerrard took over.
Rangers procured two magnificent BTTS successes against Midtjylland to reach this point, and considering they have developed a pleasant standing of a side who score and concede lots, their fixture in Legia Warsaw looks to be a good selection within this marketplace.
Legia seem a poor side–particularly after seeing their home game against Atromitos in the former round ending goalless–while I visit Gerrard’s men turning the Polish ensemble over Thursday, the odds of a house goal being scored (bearing in mind we’ve seen 23 goals over the course of their last five matches) are rather large.
Both teams to score and rangers to acquire seems a good bet in 22/5.
My second choice would be for Gent to conquer Rijeka with both teams scoring.
Rijeka beat Aberdeen 2-0 twice over the course of their last qualifying tie, but the Belgian ensemble will establish a much sterner test — one I don’t Rijeka passing inside this leg.
Gent ended 5th in the Belgian top division last season, but of the 10 home games that they won, eight were after both teams scored.
The hosts have pedigree in this contest and should beat Rijeka in this first leg, but recent history indicates both teams will find the net on the way.
