The penultimate stop on the FedExCup playoffs has underway this week at Medinah, Illinois at the BMW Championship. When it has to do with odds lists, Brooks Koepka and Rory McIlroy would be the +800 co-favorites to go all of the way.
Koepka and McIlroy will be the +800 favorites at BetOnline, with Jon Rahm (+1000), Dustin Johnson (+1400), Justin Rose (+1600), Justin Thomas (+1600), Patrick Cantlay (+2000), Webb Simpson (+2000), Patrick Reed (+2200) and Adam Scott (+2500) rounding out the top 10.
Only 30 spots are online for the Tour Championship at East Lake, so a strong performance at Medinah is vital. The previous time reigning FedExCup winner Rose and 2016 champion McIlroy played with the course was in the 2012 Ryder Cup — a triumph for Europe. The winner of the BMW Championship will get 2,000 FedExCup points. No man has defended his FedExCup name.
Last year at the tournament Keegan Bradley pulled off an unlikely victory to win for first time in more than five years when the occasion was held at Aronimink Golf Club in Newton Square, Pennsylvania. It was the very first time Bradley advanced to the Tour Championship since 2013. The American is a haul to go back to back.
The program, a 7,657-yard level 72, has been a staple among American golf dating all of the way back into the 1920s. The course has hosted the Ryder Cup (2012), three U.S. Opens (1949, 1975 and 1990), 2 PGA Championships (1999, 2006) and lots of other events at the pre-PGA Tour era.
