Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic admits he has become frustrated sitting at the bench this year.
Matic, the midfielder who joined United from Chelsea for 40m in 2017, made his first start of the season in Saturday’s 1-0 home win over Leicester, coming into the injured Paul Pogba.
However up until this week end was favouring a midfield pivot of Scott along with Pogba McTominay.
“Of course [it has been frustrating],” Matic said. “I wish to play, I give my best for the team.
“The coach would be the guy who chooses the team and whenever you’re on the seat you are not joyful, but I am attempting to convince him to change his mind and select me to playwith.
“The season is long. [Against Leicester] since you saw I played, and we won this game.
“I am happy so we’ll see in the future what the trainer will pick.
“I am prepared. At the previous 10 years I’ve played at a high degree and each game I strive to do my very best to help the team because I believe I am a team player and I can help a lot I think.”
Put to Matic he doesn’t seem the sort of man to knock on a supervisor’s door, he explained:”No, I never did that.
