The Mavericks (12-6) are in fifth place in the Western Conference and substantially improved from last season. They are 7-3 within the previous 10 games .
Luka Doncic is now taking the league. Hes third in NBA scoring, averaging 30.8 points a game, and leads the Mavericks, averaging 3.1 made three-pointers while shooting 32.5 percent from outside the arc.
In November, he became the third player in league history to moderate a triple-double that was 30-point above a month.
Dwight Powell has averaged 1.5 assists and scored 6.3 points within the last 10 matches for Dallas.
Kristaps Porzingis has yet to locate the kind which made him a celebrity in New York, but is contributing 17.3 points around 40 per cent shooting and 9.4 rebounds.
The teams square off for the second time this year. 119-110 was won by the Lakers on November 1 in the previous meeting. James led Los Angeles with 39 points, and Dallas was directed by Doncic with 31 points.
