Katie Taylor wants to ‘shut everyone up’ by beating Delphine Persoon again in rematch

Katie Taylor insists she’s not”ducking” Delfine Persoon and plans to”shut everyone up” by beating the Belgian once more in a rematch following summer.
When she confronts WBO super-lightweight title-holder Christina Linardatou at Manchester, taylor will bid to be a two-weight world winner November 2.
The Irish superstar became undisputed winner in June if she conquer Persoon in Madison Square Garden, through a vast majority decision with the dozens 95-95, 96-94 and 96-94, however there was a controversy.
Her immediate attention is about beating Linardatou and she would love to confront Puerto Rico’s Amanda Serrano, although taylor admits Persoon deserves a rematch.
“First I have to overcome Christina Linardatou, and after I do I expect to own Amanda Serrano second and the Persoon rematch at the summer sometime. That would be my perfect path,” Taylor said.
“[The Persoon battle ] was a touch-and-go battle, an all-purpose warfare really for 10 rounds, but most likely among the most exciting fights I’ve ever been involved in, probably a little too stimulating for my liking!
“It’s each fighter’s dream to become the undisputed winner, that is the pinnacle of the sport right there, so I was very, very enthusiastic.
“To predict the fight a robbery is a complete disgrace in itself really. I am aware it was a battle and that is why it’s a struggle that warrants a rematch also.
“I’m not one for ducking or diving any obstacle, I believe my career indicates that up to now. I love the fights and I can’t wait for that rematch, to set up the story straight .
“I look forward to beating her a lot more , to shut up everyone basically!
“I was always aware it was going to be an extremely close fight and I defeated that. I came out with all the straps and deservedly so.”
Taylor would like to be known as the greatest fighter of her generation at her weight class, and she understands a victory over Persoon would go a long way towards cementing this status.
She added:”It’s all about legacy, it is all about history-making. I want to be known as the finest ever and I am willing to prove myself every single time that I step in the ring, and that’s the reason the reason it is so great to be involved in those huge fights.
“These are amazing fights to have ahead of me – but first and foremost it is November 2, and my focus is on this opponent.”
Taylor’s battle with Greece’s Linardatou reports a Manchester Arena bill which includes what is defined as the previous bout of WBC lightweight champion Anthony Crolla’s profession, against a yet-to-be-announced competition, also Australian Blake Caparello being fought by Joshua Buatsi.
Taylor is thought to be headlining a card.
“I never thought when I first sat down [promoter] Eddie Hearn three decades back I might possibly be in this place, to headline a major show in this way,” Taylor stated.
“To be around precisely the exact identical show as Anthony Crolla, his farewell struggle, Joshua Buatsi, along with also the rest of the fighters on the card, so that is such a special moment for me personally.
“I feel like I have broken down a lot of boundaries through the years. When I turned pro I wished to change people’s perceptions of this game, and the support I’ve gotten during the last couple of years has been unique. I am seen by them as yet another fighter, not a female fighter, that is incredible.
“To have this opportunityto headline this series and become a two-weight world winner is incredible.”
