G2 Esports’ League of Legends trainer Fabian’GrabbZ’ Lohamann revealed how G2 managed to beat on Fnatic in LEC Fabian under ruler Luka’ Perkz’ Perkovic’s guidance.
When they defeated Fnatic 3-2 at a thriller, g2 were crowned. Things didn’t look good for them when they were 2-1 down but they managed to flip things around and secure a win that is critical in Athens.
Now, GrabbZ has revealed Perkz stepped in moments to guide his team to success.
He explained:”I need to commend Perkz. He’s got a mind of steel and he’s an absolute beast in regards to a 2-1 situation. You simply know he’d perform in that kind of game.
“He is the type of guy that his staff could hold onto and you can trust him to lead you to success. He was the major voice in game five – that he said before the show that if he got his hands it’d be a win. So in the game, we chose to offer Syndra to him and make him the focal point.
“All credit to him according to usual, moving up from SKT, RNG and Fnatic two, you know being 1-2 down is the comfort zone.”
G2’s jungler Marcin’Jankos’ Jankowski picked up. GrabbZ, who jokes about using a relationship with Jankos, couldn’t help but acknowledge that the jungler has had a great season.
He said:”Jankos would be my MVP of the season also. We’ve got this banter on where we pretend to not enjoy each other going. Each and every day, he gets on my nerves after I visit him, and go and I just need to leave home. However, he is very good at League of also a fantastic teammate and Legends. He fully deserves his MVP title.”
He’s still part of the broadcast, when his side are still playing at the LEC even though GrabbZ isn’t part of the staff. The coach has turned into a small meme along with his throws that are water-bottle.
He explained:”I really do it today for the memes. Yes, when we go from playing incredibly to trolling I get frustrated but it’s also a mix with knowing that I am not only a coach, I’m also an entertainer. So it’s always good to give the audiences a reason to see you. That’s what G2 are all about, we are not just athletes or merely a League of Legends team.
G2’s domestic and worldwide dominance this year means they are becoming among the favorites. GrabbZ, who is aware of the expectations, considers they do have a great likelihood of winning the championship.
He explained:”Being favourites is always iffy because we have not beaten teams such as IG however or faced a few of the different regions.
“We believe we have a good opportunity but we do not find ourselves as the guaranteed winners. Should we prepare and play our game, we have a chance at winning. I believe I’d be disappointed when we don’t achieve the final although it depends on the conditions.”
G2 qualified as the first seed of Europe for Worlds significance they’ve advanced straight to the group stages – starting on October 12.
