Dallas Stars vs Buffalo Sabres NHL Pick – October 14th

The NHL is set up on Monday with a seven match slate. One of those matchups set up for October 14 will probably likely be involving the Buffalo Sabres and the Dallas Stars. While Dallas has surprisingly been unable to start the season out, the Sabres have been off to a start this season. This game will start at 3:00 PM Eastern time on Monday afternoon.
The Stars have started the year out with a list of 1-4-1, that has them sitting in fifth place of the Central Division. After winning a hard one against the Washington Capitals dallas has lost back. The Stars were expected to become a strong team this season, however they have plenty of time to turn it about. Dallas will look to earn a huge road win against the Sabres on Monday.
Buffalo has published a list of 4-0-1 through their first five matches this season, which includes them sitting at their Atlantic Divisions spot. The Sabres have won their last two games in additional time and will look to attempt to finish this one off in regulation. Buffalo has looked good this season and will appear to keep this up with a win against the Stars that were fighting.
I believe the Stars will receive it going, although Buffalo and dallas have been off to begins this season. I expect Dallas to maintain making some adjustments to their lines to try and get it going. The Sabres have been to overtime or a shootout in their last few games, so that they will need to locate a few techniques to end the game in regulation.
The Sabres and the Stars met throughout last season. Jamie Benn scored from the first game and Ben Bishop completed using a 30 shot shutout to help give Dallas the 1-0 triumph at home. At which Roope Hintz managed to score for the Stars the second match shifted to Buffalo. Ben Bishop completed to give Dallas a 2-0 win this time around.
Dallas is coming off of back to back losses at home against the Washington Capitals and the Calgary Flames. Now the Stars have to try and bounce back onto a four game road trip. Roope Hintz leads the team in goals and points with four goals and an assist this season. While Tyler Seguin and Miro Heiskanen both have three things this season mattias Janmark has put up a goal and three assists.
The Sabres won their match in a shootout against the Florida Panthers 3-2. The game earlier that Buffalo defeat against the Montreal Canadiens in overtime. Jack Eichel and Rasmus Dahlin have been off to strong starts this year. Eichel has put three up target and four assists, while Dahlin has six assists and a goal. Victor Olofsson includes four goals and an assist, although Sam Reinhart also includes five points this year, to begin.
The Stars power play has not managed to find their groove yet this year, scoring one of their twenty opportunities so far. Dallas finished last season, which helped direct them. Even the Stars penalty kill was performing well this season though allowing four goals on twenty-six opportunities.
Buffalos power play was on a tear to start this year out. The Sabres have scored on eight of their nineteen power play opportunities for an astonishing 42.1 percent. Buffalos penalty kill has not been quite as great allowing four power play goals. This has them at a 73.3 percent on the kill.
Dallas needs to locate a means to receive their power play moving and I think they have a opportunity to do so contrary to the Sabres penalty kill. Buffalos power play has been doing but I do not anticipate this to last. So they can close down them into this matchup, the Stars penalty kill was powerful. I expect the teams to play a major part in the outcome of the game.
Ben Bishop is expected to get the start in the crease for the Stars in this match. Bishop has gone 1-2-1 throughout his four starts this season. In these matches, Bishop has published a .910 save percentage and a GAA of 2.48. Last season, Bishop ended as a Vezina Trophy nominee with a save percentage of .934 and a 1.98 GAA.
Carter Hutton will probably be the starting netminder for Buffalo on Monday afternoon. Hutton has really gone so far this season to a perfect 3-0 in his starts. Hes made a .908 save percentage along with a 2.32 GAA. Hutton finished out last year with a save percentage of .908 using a GAA of 3.00. Hutton will seem to put a season that is much better to keep the Sabres winning.
I believe that Dallas has a slight edge with Bishop in web. Even struggles, Bishop has been able to put a solid percentage up. If Dallas can get a whole lot of stress on Hutton, they should be in a position to net a few. Hutton has not had the stats because he has been in a few higher scoring matches, if Bishop is on his game which could catch up to him.
I believe the Stars have a opportunity to start their road trip strong with a win against Buffalo on Monday. This game seems like an ideal game for Dallas to acquire their power play going and for the Sabres power play to battle a bit. It should be enough to help propel the Stars, if Bishop can have another powerful night in web.
BetOnline has Dallas listed as a -106 from the cash line. This implies that the Stars have the slightest of edges. The Stars have though Dallas has fought to open up this year. I believe that Dallas will make it rolling up earlier rather than.
